In Remembrance


Jack Anderson Jack Anderson, 83, of Blackfoot passed away Friday, Jan. 9, 2009 at The Willows in Blackfoot. He was born April 4, 1925 in Weiser, Idaho the son of Ross William and Josephine Stanford Gwilliam Anderson. He graduated from Boise High School. Jack served in the Air Force during World War II. On May 20, 1945, he married Roma K. Anderson in Carlsbad, N.M. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on Oct. 2, 1945. She preceded him in death on Nov. 6, 2008. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Because of his physical limitations he was unable to do a lot, but was the secretary of his priesthood quorum for many years and a faithful home teacher, loved by all who knew him. He volunteered at the Department of Veteran Affairs for 17 years, giving 8, 290 hours of service. Jack worked as a bookkeeper at Albertson's Ice Cream Plant. He enjoyed doing puzzles, many of which are mounted and framed on family members walls. He also enjoyed bowling from his wheelchair and collecting coins and stamps. He is survived by his children, Richard William Anderson of Auburn, Wash., James Stephen Anderson of Shelley, Thomas Jack Anderson of Boise, Idaho, and Kaye A. Jensen of Blackfoot; sister, Dorothy Anderson of Meridian, Idaho; six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert G. Anderson. A funeral service will be held 12 noon Tuesday, Jan. 13, 2009 at Meridian 8th Ward, 11443 W. McMillan Rd, Meridian, Idaho. The family will meet with friends for one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in the Terrace Lawn Memorial Garden in Meridian, Idaho under the direction of Hawker Funeral Home, 132 S. Shilling Ave., Blackfoot, Idaho.
